On August 28, a small academic seminar themed AI for Astrophysics, organized by Fudan Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics , was held at the Wangu Science and Technology Park.

The event focused on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in astrophysical research, attracting active participation from over 20 faculty members and graduate students from various departments within Fudan University, including the Department of Physics, the School of Computational Intelligence, the Future Information Innovation Research Institute, and the Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Industry Research Institute.

During the seminar, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the application of AI technologies in cutting-edge research areas such as the co-evolution of black holes and galaxies, feedback from active galactic nuclei, and intelligent computing for plasma. They shared preliminary results and research ideas from their interdisciplinary collaborations. Professor Feng Yuan noted that the introduction of artificial intelligence methods provides new ideas and tools for processing large-scale astronomical simulation data and optimizing complex physical models. He stated that AI holds promise for offering new solutions to challenging problems in astrophysics and enhancing the efficiency and precision of research.

Although small in scale, the workshop was conducted in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. It reflected the active exploration of cutting-edge technology integration by research teams within Fudan University and laid the groundwork for further promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
